Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero was an American singer and model from the United States. Also, she was co-starring with Prince in his 1984 film, Purple Rain. Her most well-known role was co-starring in Prince's 1984 film Purple Rain and for having been the singer in the group of girls Apollonia 6. She was one of several female performers who gained from Prince's association during the 1980s. Patricia Kotero was born in Santa Monica, California in 1959. Her career started as a model in the late 1970s. Also, she appeared on CHiPS. In 1984, the actress was chosen to play the lead lady in Prince's Purple Rain. (During this time period, she changed her name.) She then replaced Vanity from the female trio Vanity 6 who performed in the film alongside Apollonia 6 under their name. Sex Shooter, the group's minor smash hit in the film's soundtrack, was her greatest chart hit. Kotero was able to break up with Prince when they fell out about the fate of Apollonia 6. She was later seen in a few minor roles during the period (reportedly refusing to take part as a character in the Purple Rain follow-up Under the Cherry Moon) prior to landing an appearance on the evening-time drama Falcon Crest during 1985-1986. Apollonia began her professional debut in 1988. However, the album of R&B/dance that was pretty pedestrian and failed to impress people who were buying music at that time, quickly vanished. Apollonia remained in the spotlight (if somewhat under the radar) as an actress in the following decade, appearing in small TV roles as well as minor film and even issued an exercise video. Apollonia's album Stay With Me was released in 1997. Later, she returned to the school and to study filmmaking as well as a production company, often working on the field of children's TV.
